Folks, we’ve been immersing ourselves in some great shows and music during the past two weeks. Although were disappointed to learn that another festival in nearby Baffle Creek has bitten the dust due to cost of living expenses, even before it had a chance to get off the launch pad.
Kay sera sera…
We carted ourselves off to Brisbane a couple of weeks ago to watch Sting performing in his play, ‘The Last Ship’. An absolutely wonderful (superb, great, amazing… etc.) show, about working class people facing redundancy in a northern England shipyard. Note: Some noises have been heard about the cost of the tickets, but Doll and I were left astounded at how good the show was, so much so, I even forgot about the ache in my wallet after the opening song.
Back home, last weekend we caught up with Luke O’Shea at the Tondoon Gardens accompanied by JC and the Tree.
Again, a wonderful night of storytelling, great music in a truly nice, open air, environment. Oh, and zero mossies!
Then, this weekend, we waddled off to the Tondoon Gardens deck again to see The Humbuckin’ Pickups and our friend, Christina Joy.
Yesterday, we fueled up the work hot rod and puttered down the road to Tannum Sands for the monthly BAM (Beach Arts and Music) markets. Held on the first Saturday each month, the outdoor stage hosts muso’s from far and wide. For free!
This week, among the many, were our friends:
Ethereal - local duo Athol and Jillian
The Agnes Sandflies - Frank and Alice:
Next weekend? We might just stay home and sleep 🙂
Happy Snaps
The crowds at the beach were a bit annoying, but we got over it…
Some local wildlife (seriously, as soon as the Police place ‘Police Watch’ tape to an abandoned/broken down car, they might as well set fire to it while they’re there and save the village idiot the effort a few hours later):
Fuel crisis? What fuel crisis?:
The grandkids arts and crafts is really coming along. One landing barge complete with cantilever boarding ramp:
Stolen from Substack
Yeah, I kind of do this anyway. Ditto for, “I’ll be back!”, “You can’t Handle the Truth!”, “Wax on, Wax off.”, “Hello! My name is Inigo Montoya…” and, “You wanna get outta here? You talk to me.”:
Every worker ever… knowing the bosses fave time to go the toilet or do a walk around:
Frankly, I think this would be a nice touch:
Beware the wee snapping turtles:
Ironically, it’s thanks to the internet I find these nice photos:
Finally:
Hey, thanks for dropping by, let’s do it all again next week!
Cheers,
