Folks, a lot happened in the past week… there were a few things I didn’t get time to take photos of which was a bit annoying, but part of life. At the time I had my hands full trying to keep the show on the road.
One of them was taking a detour off the highway coming back from Rockhampton thanks to a prang on a notorious section of road. As the sun set, I found myself driving down a dirt road in some of the prettiest country I’ve ever seen in these here parts.
During a wait at a creek crossing I snapped this photo, which does not capture the niceness of the area:
Then there was the Mt. Larcom Show. The last of the true country shows. One of our rights of passage is placing our youngest grandchildren in front of the biggest bull and nudging them towards the gigantic beast to see if they have what it takes to reach out and pat the massive bovine. This year, two out of three did, while the littlest one pointed out how much pee was pouring out of the cow and did a running commentary on the show while a small crowd gathered to enjoy the spectacle. Note: I reckon about 8 litres of fluid hit the sawdust under him.
Some of us applauded afterwards…
Anyway, on with the photos:

Agnes Waters really turned it on this week:
Stolen from Substack
I never saw any of these in a home during the 70’s, and I suspect it’d be a massive pain in the arse to make up the bed each morning, but I still sort of want one:
Speaking of the 70’s you don’t see crocheted bikinis (or women wearing high heels to go swimming) much these days, for some reason:
